I chose to talk about being a machinist for my blog for the simple fact that I am one. I've been working in the field for over 4 years now and have learned a lot, but there is still a lot more to learn. In fact, this is one of those industries where you will never stop learning due to advances in technology and the sheer vastness of the information that is already out there to learn. there are a few things you can do to speed up the process however. Lonestar College System has an extensive program on machining and machine program. I am actually currently in this program hoping to break the 30 dollar an hour mark as a result of having completed it. I would strongly recommend giving it a try for anyone who is interested.
